Centuries of valuable research into which treatments are effective and which are quackery.
You've got to be kidding. What's the difference between an MD and centuries old medicine? The black plague, for one; the discovery of germs in the early 19th century, the fact that we know now that bleeding someone doesn't work. Gee, I sure am glad YOU'RE not running things at disease control!
The same reason we don't use smoke signals to communicate. Technology.
Progress is why fool! People used to send messages by pigeon and now we can send messages to the far corners of the universe. Shaman and voodoo just don't cut it anymore.
I know. I'm the first cancer survivor in my family ever. Because I was born at the right time to benefit from modern medical treatments.
I'll pray for that boy and your twisted soul, too.
Ummm, modern science?
What makes an MD better than centuries old medicine?! Scientific advancements you moron! It is the same reason that a LOT of what would have killed a person 100 years ago just takes a few pills to cure now! This kid is going to die if he does not get modern medicine! What kind of sick human being would want to watch their child die a horrible and painful death? This kid has a 95% chance of living with modern medicine and a 5% chance with centuries old medicine. That is what makes an MD better!!!!!! You idot!!!!!!
They actually work once in a while. Without a whole lot of help the kid is dead if he isn't on chemo. His parents are quite obviously religous nuts.
